Margot Wiltfong, 1953-2011

Margot Wiltfong   Mrs. Margot Wiltfong, 57, of LaPorte, died at 2 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011, at LaPorte Hospital.

   She was born Aug. 14, 1953, to Francisco and Isabel (Cantu) Montemayor.

   Margot was head cashier/office manager at Al’s Supermarket for 30 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and its Altar Rosary Society and Elizabeth ministry, and was a Eucharistic minister, offertory counter and Sacred Heart Festival volunteer.

   On June 9, 1973, in LaPorte, she married Delbert E. Wiltfong, who survives. They had renewed their vows on their 25th and 35th anniversaries.

   She also leaves behind three daughters, Stephanie Berget of LaPorte, Tammy (Leor) Levi of Phoenix, AZ, and Kimberly (Billy Black) Wiltfong of Surprise, AZ; five grandchildren, Paige, Brock, Riley, Brody Berget and Shiloh Levi; seven sisters, Olga (Dave) Larsen, Minerva (William) Grimes, Ebelia (Charles) Watson, Yolanda (Patrick) Spence, Guadalupe (Ron) Hein, Eliza Klockow, and Adelita (John) Cernel; four brothers, Juan (Sandra) Montemayor, Francisco Montemayer, Jorge (Debra) Montemayor and Jose (Erin) Montemayor; and many nieces and nephews.

   She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and two infant brothers.

   A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, Feb. 5, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, LaPorte, with Rev. Ian Williams officiating. Visitation will be held at Essling Funeral Home, LaPorte, on Friday, Feb. 4, from 3 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. A prayer service will be held Friday at 4 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Williams officiating. Burial will be at Rolling Prairie Cemetery on Saturday following the service.

   Memorial contributions may be made to Elizabeth Ministry of Sacred Heart Church or Sacred Heart Catholic Church Building Fund, 130 Bach St., LaPorte, IN 46350.

    She was a very special lady, she will be missed by many people. She always had a warm smile for her customers and a kind word. I enjoyed caring for her during her last days. My prayers are with your family.

    Delbert, I send my deep condolences to you and your family. I don’t know if you remember me (from high school) but I remember you. I know what it is like to lose the love of your life, it’s like a piece of you is missing. I just wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Take care old friend.
