Electronics recycling trailer moves to West Ind. 2

The trailer at which residents can drop off old electronics such as computers, TVs, phones, printers and other devices has been moved down the road apiece.

The trailer, which formerly sat outside the LaPorte County Highway barns on Zigler Road, is now behind the LaPorte County Solid Waste District’s new office at 2857 W. Ind. 2, right next to the LaPorte County Small Animal Shelter and across the highway from the LaPorte County Home. The trailer is specifically located between the building housing the district office and the shelter. Signs clearly identify it.

“We’re glad to have it moved right outside our building because it means we can watch over the site better and keep it clean,” said Nancy McVay, the district’s recycling coordinator. “We’re very thankful the highway department was able to help us while it was located there.”

You can drop off your old electronics between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the new location. Electronics can no longer be left outside the highway department. The trailer will be locked for security purposes when the site is closed. Please do not leave items at the site outside of operating hours.
