Feb. 16, 1917 — St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in LaPorte discusses the proposed erection of a Parish house, in the nature of a community house especially adapted to the needs of women and girls, on the lot adjoining the church.

Feb. 16, 1967 — U.S. and South Vietnamese troops battle the Viet Cong in at least seven separate offensives in the sharpest fighting in months.

Feb. 16, 1992 — The 10-week search for LaPortean Holly Fairman ends when she is located in a small town in Mexico. Family members say she is suffering from some type of amnesia.

Feb. 16, 2007 — A Chicago developer is told he’s running out of time if he wants to buy the former brewery tower at the corner of Michigan Boulevard and Eighth Street in Michigan City and turn it into a high-end residential property.
