Michigan City Police reported April 7, 2017, that four Jeeps were stolen, and two others were targets of unsuccessful thefts, within the last two weeks. The Jeep models taken were mid-1990s to early 2000s models.
Police said they can’t definitely say if a group is targeting Jeeps in particular, but yet this doesn’t appear to be random since it has occurred in different places within the city.
Police suggest that Jeep owners be especially cautious to lock their vehicles and make sure keys are not accessible inside.
