April 30 Community Concert will feature hometown swing group Me and the Boys

Popular local group Me and the Boys will perform for the LaPorte Community Concert Association’s April 30 event at 3 p.m. at the LaPorte High School Auditorium.

Me and the Boys swings the Swing Era, as Mary Kay Steele provides the vocals and the area’s experienced jazz musicians provide the instrumentals. Me and the Boys has performed from Chicago to Atlanta, saluting the American optimism of songwriters of the 1930s, ’40s and ’50s. From Gershwin to Arlen, Miller to Ellington, Me and the Boys celebrates the Great American Songbook.

This concert is included for the association’s 2016-17 season ticket holders and also those who have joined the association for the 2017-18 season. Tickets may also be purchased at the door at a cost of $15 for adults and $5 for students through high school age.
