Lois Reeder, 1928-2017

Lois M. Reeder, 89, of LaPorte, died Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at Golden Living Fountainview in LaPorte.

She was born Jan. 8, 1928, in Three Oaks, MI, to Clarence and Jessie (Claypool) Lowe.

Lois retired as a seamstress from Coddington Clothing Company in LaPorte. She enjoyed sewing and watching sports.

On Aug. 11, 1956, in Three Oaks, MI, she married LeRoy Reeder, who preceded her in death Feb. 18, 1988.

She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Tommy Reeder; four brothers, Clarence Lowe, Baynard Lowe, Leonard Lowe and Allen Lowe; and two sisters, Margart Brown and Kathleen Sempert.

She is survived by two sons, James (Vickie) Reeder of LaPorte and Thomas (Kathy) Reeder of New Carlisle, IN; daughter, Dona (James) Maerz of Michigan City, IN; three grandchildren, Amy Maerz, Shelley (Carl) Caldwell and Ryan (Chelsea) Maerz; four great-grandchildren, Madison Caldwell, Logan Caldwell, Carlie Maerz and Maddox Maerz; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, LaPorte, on Sunday, April 23, from 2 to 6 p.m., and Monday, April 24, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. A life celebration will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor JoEllyn Chadwick officiating. Interment will follow at Patton Cemetery, LaPorte.
