Brandon Bellen, David Toth are valedictorian, salutatorian for LPHS Class of 2017

LaPorte High School Principal Ben Tonagel is proud to announce the Class of 2017 valedictorian and salutatorian.

Valedictorian Brandon Bellen is the son of Ashley and Charesa Bellen. Brandon plans to attend Indiana University to major in Biochemistry with a minor in Spanish. He plans to attend medical school to be a cardiovascular surgeon.

Salutatorian David Toth is the son of Joe and Tanya Toth. David plans to attend the University of Notre Dame to major in Chemistry and Mathematics. He plans to either pursue a PhD in chemistry or attend medical school.

Candidates for valedictorian/salutatorian must meet Academic Honors requirements. Qualification points are awarded for honors courses, dual credit courses, AP courses, and total credits earned. There were 21 finalists for the valedictorian and salutatorian designations in the Class of 2017. Each student maintained a 4.0 GPA and is ranked number one in the Class of 2017. The valedictorian and salutatorian will address their class at commencement June 4 at Kiwanis Stadium.

Congratulations to these Slicers for their outstanding achievements at LaPorte High School. Their academic achievements exemplify LPCSC’s mission of “Learn Today to Excel Tomorrow.” The Slicer Community is proud of these students and wishes them the very best as they graduate from LPHS.
