LPHS girls track team takes Sectional title for 2nd year in a row

The LaPorte High School girls track and field team won its second Sectional championship in a row.

At the Chesterton Sectional on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, the Slicers tallied 9 first places, including every relay. Also, Riley Tuerff broke the school record in the 100 hurdles in a time of 15.77 and won all 4 of the events in which she competed.

Final point tallies: LaPorte 1,467, Chesterton 124, Valparaiso 112
