Independent Cat Society plans special events

Come celebrate the Red, White and Mew with kittens from the Independent Cat Society. For the month of July, ICS adoption fees are two kittens (6 months or younger) for $75 and cats over 6 months for $75. All ICS kitties have been spayed or neutered, fully vaccinated and vetted, microchipped, and more.

Please note, ICS does not do same-day adoptions. An application and review process is required.

ICS adoption hours:
Friday: 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sunday: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The shelter is located in Westville at the northeast corner of U.S. 6 and County Line Road. For GPS, use 4061 S. County Line Rd., Westville.

ICS upcoming events

Eyes on the Pies & Summer Open House: July 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and July 30 from 1 to 4 p.m. Join ICS for its 3rd annual Eyes on the Pies fundraiser. Plenty of baked goods, cat toys, ICS merchandise and more will be available. All proceeds will benefit the shelter. While you are there, meet some of the cats and kittens waiting to be adopted, enter for your chance to win raffle prizes, and learn more about the Independent Cat Society.

ICS Abridged Used Book Sale: Aug. 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Aug. 13 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Moose Lodge 1357, 108 Indiana Ave., Valparaiso.

2018 ICS Calendar: The shelter is currently taking submissions for its 2018 calendar. The deadline to submit your pet photos is Aug. 1. Dates are starting to fill up, so be sure to reserve yours soon.

The Independent Cat Society is a no-kill cat shelter and as a non-profit 501 © (3), is funded almost entirely through membership fees, adoption fees, fundraising events, and the generous tax deductible gifts of caring individuals. The shelter is operated primarily by volunteers and does not receive any government funding.
