At the fair: Watching the miracle of birth beats carnival rides all to heck

WNLP photos by Bob Wellinski (click to enlarge)

One LaPorte County Fair family will go back home with at least one more cow than they brought. Roughly 60 people crowded around a pen inside the Pioneer Land petting zoo building Tuesday, July 12, 2017, for a very special moment. Young and old were in awe as they witnessed the birth of a calf. Kangaroo, owned by the Luke Minich family, gave birth to little Joey, a perfect name chosen by the Minich kids considering he’s Kangaroo’s offspring. The photos show Luke Minich, with the help of his daughter Mary, help deliver Joey. They may have another cow ready to give birth Thursday or Friday
