Sept. 6, 1917 — Tomorrow is good-bye day for LaPorte’s Company B. That thousands will assemble at the New York Central station depot at Washington Street is an accepted conclusion.

Sept. 6, 1967 — Warren Weller, a custodian at Maple School and a kindergartner there 58 years ago, leads his granddaughter to kindergarten at the school this morning.

Sept. 6, 1992 — No paper

Sept. 6, 2007 — Area shelters are struggling to keep up as the stray cat population skyrockets.
