Waterford Inn to hold fundraisers for Hurricane Harvey victims

Waterford Inn, 6466 W. Johnson Rd., will be conducting 2 events titled “Help Houston” to raise money for Hurricane Harvey victims.

The first will be an indoor “garage sale” on Saturday, Sept. 16, beginning at 9 a.m. Free hot dogs will be served. (Due to Indiana law, people under the age of 21 will not be permitted inside the building.) The sale will feature a number of collectible items from Waterford Inn as well as “man cave” items such as advertising signs, glassware, bar room items, and some kitchenware. Donations will also be accepted from local businesses. Many items are brand new and priced to sell in order to get the funds where needed as quickly as possible. Collectibles will be priced at or below typical eBay prices. The inn is accepting donated items to add to the garage sale.

Waterford Inn is also taking bids for a vintage Mellor player piano with reels. Funds raised from the sale of the piano will also go to Houston. (Note: the piano does need restoration.)

The second fundraiser will take place on Saturday, Sept. 23, when the inn will donate $1 for every beverage sold during business hours toward the “Help Houston” campaign.

For more information on either fundraiser, call (219) 879-9083.
