Romayne Graham, 1924-2017

Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, is handling the arrangements for Romayne H. Graham, 93, of LaPorte, Indiana, who passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017.

She was born April 9, 1924, in Frazee, Minnesota, to Raymond and Berdie (Katzke) Denzer.

Romayne was a secretary for Whirlpool and retired in 1984. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, an avid baker, Cubs fan, and music lover.

On February 12, 1946, Romayne married Louis Patrick Graham, who preceded her in death on July 6, 2007.

She leaves behind her daughter, Cheryl (Michael) Essling of LaPorte; two sons, Bruce (Debra) Graham of Lafayette, Indiana, and Larry (Jan) Graham of Fort Wayne, Indiana; six grandchildren, Michaela (Andrew) Wehr, Ian (Rachel) Essling, Francie (Drew) Doster, David (Megan) Graham, John Graham, and Matthew (Katie) Graham; great-grandchildren, Caroline Wehr and Graham and Eliana Essling; sister, Betty (Melvin) Walker of Sevierville, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, and a sister, Marlys Crabtree. 

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, October 6, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, LaPorte. A funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Friday following the visitation with Pastor Dennis Meyer officiating.  Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethany Lutheran Church Music Department, 102 G St., LaPorte, IN 46350.

    My sincere sympathy to Romie’s family, and at the same time how happy I am for her! We can all rejoice that she is now at home with her Savior, and we have His assurance that we will all see her again.

    So sorry to hear about Romayne passing. She was a very nice person and had a lot of class. I’ll miss her. She has a wonderful caring daughter that always made time for her. The two of them were always laughing about something together. God bless you all.
