Oct. 7 memorial service set for Donald Williamson, 1927-2017

Donald Lee Williamson, 90, of LaPorte, Indiana, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2017.

Donald was born March 8, 1927, in LaPorte to Lee Ray and Gertrude (Gorecky) Williamson.

Donald served in the United States Navy and attended LaPorte Missionary Church.  He retired as a truck driver with Tucker Freight, formerly Clemons Trucking.

On April 19, 1947, in LaPorte, Donald married Beverly Lee Deardurff, who preceded him in death on October 6, 2011.

Donald leaves behind five daughters, Deborah Lane of Grand Prairie, Texas, Karen (Steven) Curtis of Valparaiso, Indiana, Victoria (David) Clark of LaPorte, Indiana, Christine Uribe of Santa Ana, California, and Penny Williamson of Orange, California; seven grandchildren, Carrie, Meagan, Justin, Kaylee, Derek, Cassie, and Kylee; and one great-grandchild, Gisele.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Richard, Melvin and Arthur Williamson.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, LaPorte, where family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte.

Memorial contributions may be made to the LaPorte County Small Animal Shelter, 2855 W. Ind. 2, LaPorte, IN 46350.
