It was quite a while back and she was Ms. Walczak then however I recall her as being a great teacher in the fifth grade at Crichfield. One of my favorites.

I think it was 1971 I was in first grade at Crichfield. Miss. Walczak was a fifth-grade teacher. She would stop by our class to talk to my teacher. I developed a crush on Miss. Walczak and wrote her love letters along with profile drawings of Abraham Lincoln because it was the best thing that I could draw at the time. She thought these were cute and gave me chocolate candies in return. I later had her for fifth grade. She was very nice. All the kids liked her. God Bless.

    Dearest Jerry and Matt,

Please know that our hearts are aching. We just heard of Joan’s passing. We will always remember her as a caring, compassionate person. We loved her cookies… and she enjoyed baking them for us.

You are both in our thoughts and prayers.
