2 LP County businesses, 1 entrepreneur to be honored by NW Indiana small business organization

Two LaPorte County businesses and one local young entrepreneur will be among 9 awardees at the 2017 E-Day event held by the Northwest Indiana Branch of the Indiana Small Business Development Center. The 26th annual awards ceremony will take place Nov. 8 at Avalon Manor in Merrillville.

LaPorte County awardees are:

  • Emerging Business of the Year: Rich and Leslie Monroe, Monroe’s Crossing, New Carlisle. Monroe’s Crossing is a restaurant/venue site/catering business in Hudson Lake. (Facebook page: Monroe’s Crossing)
  • Young Entrepreneur of the Year: Seth Spencer, SERA Solutions, Michigan City. SERA solutions is a digital marketing agency. (serasolutions.com)
  • Small Business Exporter of the Year: Scott Yaeger, FAST International, LaPorte. FAST International manufactures items to serve the Electrocoat painting industry. (fastecoat.com)

Another local connection at the event will be its featured speaker, Emerson Spartz, a LaPorte County native who created and is the CEO of Dose, a digital media company in Chicago. (Facebook page: Dose)

“Our E-Day winners may come from a variety of industries from all over the region, but they have something in common: their passion has created a measurable impact on our business community,” said Lorri Feldt, Northwest ISBDC regional director. “We are proud to provide a platform to showcase their entrepreneurial spirit.”
