Carma Burns, 1940-2017

Carma Jean Burns, 77, of Troup, Texas, formerly of LaPorte, Indiana, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2017, in Texas.

She was born July 2, 1940, in LaPorte to Floyd and Iva Mrozinski Sr.

Carma retired from Red Lobster with over 20 years of service. She was a member of FOE #2339, and was active in the LaPorte community. She loved spending time with family, especially her granddaughters and her dog, Molly. 

On February 20, 1971, in Kingsford Heights, Indiana, Carma married Donald W. Burns, who preceded her in death on July 23, 2013.

Surviving are her son, Rodney (Sandy) Burns of Troup, Texas; grandchildren, Savannah and Stephanie Burns; brothers, Bob Mrozinski of LaPorte and Jim (Kathy) Mrozinski of Appleton, Wisconsin; and sister-in-law, Diana Mrozinski of LaPorte. 

She was preceded in death by siblings Floyd Mrozinski and Rose Orman. 

Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, November 11, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, LaPorte. A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. following the visitation. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte.

    I’m sorry to hear about Carma. I worked with her at Red Lobster and she was a sweet lady. My prayers are with her family.

    Rodney, so sorry to hear about Carma, I don’t get the paper and just don’t check this sight too often. My thoughts and prayers go out to you. Jerry passed away last July 14th, and its so hard.
