South Bend man charged with dealing cocaine in LaPorte County


After a long investigation, local police arrested a South Bend man Nov. 20, 2017, for allegedly dealing cocaine in LaPorte County.

Lawrence Glover, 44, was arrested without incident after he was stopped in the 6500 east block of Ind. 2.

The LaPorte County Drug Task Force had launched its investigation into Glover based on tips from citizens. The investigation was led by Detectives Mike Walker and Kyle Shiparski. Evidence was also found in Glover’s South Bend residence.

Glover faces a charge of dealing in cocaine, a Level 2 felony. He was being held in LaPorte County Jail on a $25,000 cash bond.

Also assisting in the investigation and arrest were LaPorte County sheriff’s deputies, LaPorte County Prosecutor’s Office, DEA, ATF, South Bend SWAT Team, and St., Joseph County Drug Unit.

“This case is a great example of the partnership The LaPorte County Drug Task Force has with working investigations with neighboring jurisdictions in regards to individuals who transport illegal narcotics into our community,” said Task Force Commander Sgt. Andy Hynek.
