Information from Michigan City Police Department

Freedom was fleeting for a recent Indiana State Prison (ISP) inmate after a Michigan City Police officer spotted him tossing a package over the wall into the prison confines.

Tyron Kennedy, 37, of Michigan City, was released from ISP on Nov. 24, 2017, after serving time for felony robbery. On Dec. 21, 2017, MCPD Officer Steven Forker reported that he saw Kennedy on a moped stopped on Sheridan Avenue next to the prison. Forker said he saw Kennedy throw an object over the fence into the prison grounds.

With the assistance of prison personnel, the package was retrieved and found to contain three cell phones, tobacco and the drug Saboxone.

Kennedy was charged with three counts of trafficking a cell phone, level 5 Felony; one count of trafficking tobacco, level 5 Felony, and one count of trafficking a controlled substance, level 5 Felony.

Less than 30 days after being released from prison, he’s going back! At 37 years of age, you would think he would know better. He obviously has no intentions on following any laws so put him back in prison where he belongs – and keep him there!
