Jan. 6, 1918 — Japan is ready to do what is necessary to protect the allies and escort them from Russia.

Jan. 6, 1968 — News from Saigon says Communist troops killed, wounded or captured all but 24 GIs of a 103-man American Army company ambushed on the northern coast.

Jan. 6, 1993 — Flooding closes Ind. 39 in northern Starke County.

Jan. 6, 2008 — Inductees into the Westville Hall of Fame are Bill Hannon, Craig Albers, Kathleen (Glassley) Nichols, Charles McComas, and Ray Levendouski.
