Jan. 11, 1918 — Chief of Police Norris serves notice on all LaPorte saloon keepers to obey the law in closing their places of business at 11 o’clock each night and keeping closed doors on Sunday.

Jan. 11, 1968 — Reports show $742,431 in advance gifts toward the planned new LaPorte Hospital.

Jan. 11, 1993 — The LaPorte County Health Board considers five sites for a new Michigan City health department office and settles on the Evergreen Plaza building.

Jan. 11, 2008 — Rev. Doug Hadley long ago forgave the vandals that last July broke into his church and set fire to several Bibles. Still, one question lingers: “Why?”
