LaPorte Police raising funds to obtain 2nd K-9

Local police dogs have proved their skills and mettle again and again, finding and nabbing fugitives, sniffing out drugs and explosives, and aiding in searches, rescues and recoveries. LaPorte Police have one police dog and would like to add a second to assist the department.

“With the current trend throughout the country we would like to add another narcotics dog to aid with drug interdiction and to help make LaPorte a safer community for its residents,” according to a PD press release. “The LaPorte Police Department is always accepting donations to assist with our K-9 needs and does have a donation program set up.”

For more information and to donate, call the LaPorte Police Department at 362-9446.

Can someone give us an idea of how much money would need to be raised to obtain a second K-9 police dog? Definetly a good idea.
    Thanks
