Feb. 14, 1918 — An “Argus trio,” two linotype operators and a sportswriter and bookkeeper, is at Camp Johnston in Jacksonville, Fla. The newspaper misses them, but the kaiser must be licked.

Feb. 14, 1968 — The Levine Family of LaPorte Foundation makes a $40,000 gift toward the LaPorte Hospital building fund campaign.

Feb. 14, 1993 — Two trucks carrying food and medicine are stuck on the Serbian-Bosnian border, unable to reach a Muslim town in eastern Bosnia cut off by 10 months of war.

Feb. 14, 2008 — Don and Misty Evens win the newspaper’s Most Romantic Couple Contest.
