Great Shots: Wow.

(Click photos to enlarge)

WNLP has posted photos of bald eagles on our midst in the past. But these, taken by Mary Ketchmark in the Wanatah area, are particularly spectacular.

“I have been lucky enough to capture some great photos of a pair of bald eagles building a nest. I have a Nikon 7100 with a 300 zoom lens.” Mary assured us that she was some distance away, so the eagles were not disturbed.

“This is the first year they have been here and they’ve been working on this nest since November,” Mary told WNLP. “They are so huge and carried such big branches (see 4th photo) to put in the nest. I feel very lucky to be able to document them. I’m excited to see if they have little ones. I was there on a lucky day!”

If you have a Great Shot (or Shots) of a local scene or event, send it as a .jpg attachment to wnlp@whatsnewlaporte.com. Be sure to include the photographer’s name and a little information about the photo(s).
