Mayor Krentz to deliver State of the City address on March 9 and March 19


LaPorte Mayor Mark Krentz will deliver the annual State of the City address on two different dates in March. This will be Krentz’s first State of the City speech since succeeding Blair Milo as mayor in August 2017.

— Krentz will give his first presentation Friday, March 9, at a LaPorte Chamber of Commerce luncheon at Best Western Plus on Pine Lake Avenue. Registration begins at 11 a.m. and lunch starts at 11:30 a.m. Cost is $38 for the public and $33 for chamber members. Register at or by calling 219.362.3178.  

— The mayor will also deliver his address at the March 19 LaPorte City Council meeting. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall. The public is invited to attend.

The annual speech touches on business, economic, development, park and recreation, and other issues affecting the community.
