Man charged with drunk driving after plowing into Trail Creek BMV

A man was charged with operating while intoxicated after his truck put a sizable hole in the Indiana BMV branch at Evergreen Plaza in Trail Creek early Friday morning.

At about 3:30 a.m., officers arrived at the BMV and were approached by the driver, Nicholas Judge, 25, Judge told police his accelerator pedal became lodged against the floorboard of his truck, causing it to strike the building and a nearby vehicle. A blood alcohol test revealed Judge had a BAC of 0.15.

Trail Creek Police were assisted by Michigan City Police and the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Department.

    Thank goodness he did not get on 20 and injure someone. Do you ever read where bar owners get cited for over serving? Hope he has a good job and insurance……….no wonder our insurance rates keep climbing………..their loss is passed on to other policy holders.
