Good Friday Cross Walk is March 30 in downtown LaPorte

The Greater LaPorte County Ministerial Association is pleased to announce the details of its annual Cross Walk on Good Friday, March 30, in LaPorte.
The annual tradition will start this year at Christ Church, 802 Indiana Ave., at noon. Six downtown churches and LaPorte Hospital will host this walk as it moves through the downtown. Each stop will include a short message and hymn from the host pastor about a word from the cross by Jesus.
The community is invited to participate in all or part of this service. The schedule, messages and approximate times are as follows:
— First Word: noon, Christ Church, 802 Indiana Ave., “Father Forgive Them”
— Second Word: New Church, 812 Indiana Ave., “Today You Shall Be with Me in Paradise”
— Third Word: St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1000 Michigan Ave., “Behold thy Mother”
— Fourth Word: First United Methodist Church, 1225 Michigan Ave., “My God, My God, Why Have you Forsaken Me”
— Fifth Word: Bethany Lutheran Church, 102 G St., “I Thirst”
— Sixth Word: LaPorte Hospital Chapel, “It is Finished”
— Seventh Word: St. Mary of the Angels Anglican Church, 811 Monroe St., “Into thy Hands I Commit my Spirit”
