March 20, 1918 — In a talk to boys on joining the Boys’ Working Reserve, a man says “What did YOU do?” will be the question to stay-at-homes when men who went to the front come marching home.

March 20, 1968 — Effective April 15, Penn Central can discontinue operation of the last passenger trains to service the LaPorte area.

March 20, 1993 — Pro-lifers migrate to the University of Notre Dame to protest the awarding of the Notre Dame medal for Catholic citizenship to pro-choice Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan.

March 20, 2008 — Britany Belkiewitz wins the LaPorte County Spelling Bee and will compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C.
