Learn more about county, state candidates in May 8 primary at these Candidate Forums

The LaPorte County League of Women Voters, the Better Government Study Group and the South County Citizens Coalition will host three Candidate Forums in April 2018 to help voters learn more about candidates in the May 8 primary election:

The township mergers described in HB 1005 has focused attention on the role of township government, and as a result an added focus of this year’s candidate forums is township government candidates. The sheer number of Township candidates makes it obvious why extra forums are needed this year.

Candidate forums are moderated Q&A sessions, with written questions submitted by the audience and organizers. Unopposed candidates will be given the opportunity to introduce themselves, but will not participate in the Q&A.

For more information on the forums, contact: Jo Ann Engquist, 219-874-9939 or jaengquist@comcast.net; Leigh Morris, 219-363-2294 or lmorris@csinet.net; or Rick Moore, 219-733-1500, or pastorrick@cbcwanatah.com.
