“Annie” is coming to Footlight Players starting April 6

Footlight Players will present their 5th show of their season with the award-winning family musical, “Annie.”

Since this show is a family favorite, reservations are highly recommended. Show dates are April 6, 7, 8, 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, and 22. Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 p.m., with 2 p.m. matinee on Sundays. Tickets are $15 each for adults, or $10 for children ages 12 and under. The show is directed by Robert W. Komendera and assisted by Laura Meyer. Vocal/music director is Shannon Wyels, with Lee Meyer at the keyboard. The cast is choreographed by Denise Barkow.

Little orphan Annie (Maddi Ames) charms everyone’s hearts in 1930s New York City. She is determined to find her real parents after they left her at the orphanage run by boozy floozy Miss Hannigan (Amy Crane). She finds friends and family with Oliver Warbucks (Tom LeDonne) and Grace Farrell (Candace Archer). Along her adventures you will meet her orphan buddies (Tatiana Miller, Eleanor Crane, Alli Fernandez, Sophia Bush, Raegan Smedley, Erin Ames); her dog, Sandy (Floral Antrim); Drake the butler (Jamel “Yogi” Williams); her nemeses, Rooster and Lily (Andy Crane/Kristina Moore); Lt. Ward (Jim Snyder); and even Franklin D. Roosevelt (Thom Nelson).

Upcoming auditions for “The Drowsy Chaperone”

Footlight Players will be producing the comedy musical “The Drowsy Chaperone” on the first 3 weekends in June. The story centers around a diehard fan who plays his favorite cast album while the characters all come to life in this farce that garnered 5 Tony Awards. All you need is a willing attitude and your time and talent. There is no experience necessary. There will be cold readings from the script and bring a prepared vocal selection.
