April 11, 1918 — Food Administrator Kramer orders farmers to sell their wheat by taking it to the elevators and mills before May 1.

April 11, 1968 — An unprecedented civil rights bill forbidding discrimination in most of the nation’s housing–given virtually no chance a few months ago–is awaiting President Johnson’s signature.

April 11, 1993 — LaPorte Hospital Community Health Care Center opens.

April 11, 2008 — Three years after being kidnapped near Baghdad, Jeff Ake’s whereabouts are still unknown.
