Independent Cat Society event/progress report, April 2018

Visit the Independent Cat Society in April 2018 and adopt a cat or kitten for the reduced fee of $75 and get a companion kitty for only $25. All ICS kitties have been spayed or neutered, fully vaccinated and vetted, microchipped, and more.

(Please note, the society does not do same-day adoptions. An application and review process is required.)

ICS adoption hours:

Friday: 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM

Saturday: 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Sunday: 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM

Upcoming Events:

— Aunt Kitty’s Spring Yard Sale: Saturday, June 9, from 9 am to 3 pm and Sunday, June 10, from 9 am to 3 pm. Attend for food, fun and bargains galore at the shelter, as well as a chance to visit with the kitties. All proceeds will support the cats and kittens at the Independent Cat Society.

— Northwest Indiana Earth Day Celebration: Saturday, April 21, at Porter County Expo Center. Shelter reps will be there from 9 am to 2 pm. Enjoy northwest Indiana’s premier environmental event!

— Be Kind to Animals: Saturday, April 26, at the Porter County Expo Center.Shelter reps will be there from 10 am to 4 pm. One of the best pet-centered shopping and adoption events of the year.

News:

— The shelter’s TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) Program is making great progress within the community. In its first 5 weeks, shelter reps have already helped 54 cats. The Independent Cat Society is a no-kill cat shelter and as a non-profit 501c(3), is funded almost entirely through membership fees, adoption fees, fundraising events, and the generous tax-deductible gifts of caring individuals. The shelter is operated primarily by volunteers and does not receive any government funding. The shelter is located in Westville, IN at the northeast corner of U.S. 6 and County Line Road. Questions?
