Great Shots: It’s a duck! It’s a goose! It’s a … pelican?

This is a time of year when we can enjoy spotting some feathered visitors as they pass through on their long journeys. Pastor Carl Galloway took these photos of some pelicans — yes, pelicans — that stopped at the Kingsbury Fish and Wildlife Area April 15, 2018. “They are migrating to nesting sites in Canada, Montana, North Dakota, etc.,” Galloway explained. “They have a wingspan that averages 9 feet, second only to the California condor.”

If you have a Great Shot to share, email it as a .jpg to wnlp@whatsnewlaporte.com. Be sure to include the photographer’s name and a bit of information about the photo(s).
