May 14, 1918 — Big orders have been coming to the Bastian-Morley Co. since it came to LaPorte last winter. Six railcar loads of heaters are going to the Pacific Coast.

May 14, 1968 — The estimated value of the Scott, Foresman and company warehouse, now under construction in LaPorte, is $500,000.

May 14, 1993 — The owners of Foster Printing in Michigan City were named Indiana Small Business People of the Year and met President Clinton in a ceremony honoring 50 people from across the nation.

May 14, 2008 — Truck drivers are among those hit the hardest as gas tops $4 a gallon.
