May 16, 1918 — Mrs. Marie Ten Broeck is likely to accompany Captain Ten Broeck, a former LaPorte physician, when he departs for France and appear in entertainments for the American boys in camps.

May 16, 1968 — Tornadoes hit 11 states. The death count is at least 68.

May 16, 1993 — The hospital here is LaPorte’s largest employer with over 900 employees and $23 million in payroll and benefits.

May 16, 2008 — Get hanging-basket bargains this weekend at Angelo Bernacchi Greenhouses on South Indiana Avenue, LaPorte.
