June 9, 1918 — A man returns to LaPorte on a train in bibulous condition. He had indulged his appetite for drink to an abnormal extent. His brother was also “overcome.”

June 9, 1968 — Alicia Bonnet, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bonnet, is crowned Miss LaPorte County for 1968. She also received the Miss Congeniality Award.

June 9, 1993 — The Michigan City lighthouse catwalk is on the list of top 10 at-risk Indiana landmarks.

June 9, 2008 — After two rain delays, the LaPorte softball team’s state game will resume with McCutcheon holding a 4-0 lead.
