Robert Rippy, 1934-2018

Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, LaPorte, is handling the arrangements for Robert N. Rippy, 83, of LaPorte, Indiana, who passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2018, in his home.  

Robert was born October 28, 1934, in Plymouth, Indiana, to Basil and Earlene (Cline) Rippy.

Robert was the founder of RIPCO in LaPorte and had also been employed with Dr. Peter Kesling for 27 years. He was a member of First Pentecostal Church on Boyd Boulevard in LaPorte, where he was a former Sunday school superintendent and played the mandolin for 40 years.

On October 18, 1952, Robert married Liela Heath, who survives. 

Also surviving are a daughter, Debra (Mike) Fara of LaPorte; sons, Christopher (Marjorie) Rippy of Nashville, Tennessee, and James Rippy of Peru, Indiana; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Sue Mitchell of Plymouth, Indiana; and a brother, Bill (Shirley) Rippy of Tifton, Georgia.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, June 24, at First Pentecostal Church, 1930 Boyd Blvd., LaPorte, IN 46350.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Pentecostal Church.

    Bro. Rippy was a friend to me when I was his pastor. He and his wife were so kind. My wife and I loved them both. We regret his passing and look forward to a great reunion.

    Chris and Marge, we are so sorry to hear of your loss. We think of you when we see local tennis matches. ( We used to play with you two at the Civic many years ago.). Hope all is well.

  3. We have known Bob and Lee for years. I grew up with them being my parents best friends. My husband and I enjoyed having them help us with the church. Bob will be greatly missed. Love James & Beverly Hen
