July 10, 1918 — There were 103 casualties in the U.S. forces today in the Great War. Twenty-one were killed in action, 15 died from wounds, 4 died from disease, 45 were wounded severely, 12 were missing in action, etc.

July 10, 1968 — A festive air will greet LaPorte shoppers as merchants take to the streets for the annual retail division Sidewalk Days promotion. A strolling band will boost the holiday atmosphere.

July 10, 1993 — A Gary man goes on a shooting spree at a Michigan City hospital and injures two security guards and the father of a patient.

July 10, 2008 — State officials conclude that the on-the-job death of a LaPorte woman at ThermoSafe in Michigan City may have been more than an accident.
