July 18, 1918 — America has fed the world this year with 3,011,100,000 pounds of meats and fats and 840,800,000 bushels of cereals. This is an increase over the preceding year.

July 18, 1968 — Saturday window service at the LaPorte post office will be discontinued effective next week. This is because of the nationwide effort to comply with an austerity program urged by Congress.

July 18, 1993 — Armed with new guidelines, the county health department is inspecting temporary food booths, including those at the fair. Among the 18 standards are a three-compartment sink.

July 18, 2008 — The trial for the Rolling Prairie woman accused of killing her newborn infant nearly ends in a mistrial.
