Pros endure the waves to put on quite a show at Pine Lake

Despite the wind-driven rain, the LaPorte Rotary’s Hub of Awesome Water Ski Show went on Saturday, July 21, 2018. People lined Waverly Road under colorful umbrellas to watch the 2nd annual show. Although the wind and choppy waters created a challenge for the Lake City Skiers, the crowd wasn’t disappointed as they watched the professional group perform several stunts on the waters of south Pine Lake.

This was a great show. Those skiers are tough, as they were able to perform in some pretty tough conditions.
Thank you Rotary Club for sponsoring this fun event here in La Porte, “City of Lakes”.

Thanks to everyone who came out on Saturday in spite of the less than ideal weather. The skiing was remarkable! And a huge thank-you to all the sponsors who helped make this possible! Bethany Foundation, La Porte County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Suds on State Laundromat, Friend of the Water Ski Show, GIS, Horizon Bank, Thor Thordarson, West Monroe Partners (the Ulery Family), Feikes Builders, Parkison/Hinton CPA’s, Huber Marine, and La Porte Rotary Club. And a special shout-out to Tom Garwood of Garwood Orchards for the loan of a generator! It takes a village to make something like this come together! Fran Milo- Rotary Water Ski Show Chairman
