Builders Association of LaPorte County will celebrate 50th anniversary Sept. 21

The Builders Association of LaPorte County will mark its 50th year with a celebration Sept. 21, 2018, starting at 5:30 p.m. at the LaPorte Civic Auditorium. Present members, civic leaders and past members are invited. If you’re a past member, call the BALC office at 219-326-0624 and RSVP, or visit www.balc.org for more information.

The BALC’s members include just about every business related to construction in the county. The organization’s motto is “Building LaPorte County since 1968” and it plans to continue in the future.

In June of 1968, eight builders and 10 associates filed an application with the National Association of Home Builders to begin the nonprofit Builders Association of LaPorte County. On Oct. 8, 1968, approval was granted.

Professionals who are members of BALC are committed to provide safe and affordable housing, dedicated to the quality of the product and satisfaction of the consumer. Members’ services range from real estate and planning to construction to interior design, landscaping, financing, closing, and more.

According to a BALC press release: “The Builders Association of LaPorte County strives to protect the American Dream of housing opportunities for all, while working to achieve professional success for its members who build communities, create jobs and strengthen our economy. We believe building a community is more than building homes. Our members give back to the communities where they live and work, consistently donating considerable time, materials and financial support to community service projects.”
