Slicer soccer, tennis, volleyball results from weekend

Boys soccer
Carlos Segovia scored the winning goal for the LaPorte boys soccer team in their 1-0 defeat of Mishawaka High School Saturday, Sept. 22, at Kesling Park. Joe Keiley got an assist on the goal.
The Slicers outshot the Cavemen 26-6. LaPorte’s defense played well in the match, with Ronaldo Cuarenta, Kobe Hayward, Imanol Chavez and Thomas Krause protecting the goal and Angel Garay making 6 saves in goal.

Girls soccer

The Slicer girls trounced South Bend Clay, 12-0, on Saturday, their Senior Celebration Day. Scoring for LaPorte were senior Megan Blank (3); juniors Gabrielle Latchford (2), Jasmine Diaz (2) and Morgan Llewelyn; and sophomores Hannah Hartsburg and Grace “Brooklyn” Holt. Holt recorded her 7th shutout on the season.

Tennis
The Slicer boys won one and dropped one Saturday. They defeated Lafayette Jefferson 3-2. Individual scores:

Volleyball
The Slicers (21-3, 10-0 DAC) came out .500 at the Warsaw Invite, falling to West Noble and Lake Central, but beating Tippecanoe Valley and FW Snider. The Slicers look to get back on track Tuesday when they head to Michigan City for a Johnson Road clash. JV begins at 5 PM.
