Reminder: Oct. 9 is the registration deadline to vote in the Nov. 6 election

Time is running short for citizens to register to vote in the Nov. 6 general election, which includes candidates for numerous county, state and U.S. offices. Regardless of one’s political beliefs, every vote is important. Voter registration in LaPorte County is typically lower than 20 percent.

Register to vote before the Oct. 9 deadline at www.indianavoters.com or by visiting your local Bureau of Motor Vehicles. At the Indiana voters site, you can also check your voter registration status. You may also register and/or check your status by contacting the LaPorte County Voter Registration Office at 219-325-5572 and visiting the office’s link:  http://www.laportecounty.org/Elections/VoterRegistration/

Closer to the election, WNLP will post a complete list of candidates. (Some ballot additions and omissions have taken place since the May primary.)
