Home field advantage didn’t seem to exist Friday night, Nov. 2, 2018, as the Slicers were devoured by their arch rivals, the Michigan City Wolves, 49-7 at Kiwanis Field. On top of that, the game was for the Class 5A Sectional title and the LaPorte crowd had to watch Michigan City celebrate in the end. The Slicers’ one shining moment came in the 4th quarter when Slicer Jeremiah Ruiz ran 50-plus yards up the middle for a TD. LaPorte ends its season at 4-7. The Wolves will host Concord for the regional title next Friday. Here are Mike’s shots of some of the action.

Coach Sharpe tries to rally his troops.

The scoreboard tells the story with 3:20 left on the first half as the Slicer coaches talk with the players during a timeout.

Unfortunately, this image pretty well sums up the game for the Slicers.
