Nov. 8, 1918 — While on his way home on his bicycle, Attorney W.C. Ransburg was struck by a delivery auto. He was taken in the ambulance to his home on McCollum Street.

Nov. 8, 1968 — A halfway house or detention home is needed locally for youths who run away from deplorable home situations, have emotional disturbances, and have minor first offenses.

Nov. 8, 1993 — A planned housing development that could bring in 88-300 new students into New Prairie schools prompts school administrators to fight it.

Nov. 8, 2008 — Police arrest a 23-year-old man on felony burglary charges. Detectives allege that he stole four laptops from Kesling Middle School.
