The 54th annual LaPorte County Sheriff”s Christmas Show went off without a hitch Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017. More than 100 children who need a break for various reasons in LaPorte County were treated to a show by famed local magician Matt Kalita. After being amazed by his magic tricks (including making an audience member float on stage), the kids had the opportunity to meet with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Each child received a gift, a bag of goodies and the chance to pick out a book.

The annual show is made possible by generous donations from dozens of local businesses that provide funding for the show, the gifts and the books. Tickets are provided free of charge. Any items that are not given away are donated to the Salvation Army.
