Great Shots: We live here, too

It’s been a trying winter thus far and all creatures are doing what they can to stay as healthy as possible. Deer are no exception as they pass through yards and neighborhoods hoping to find a little sustenance, as their woodland acreage decreases at the hands of human development.

The top photo was taken with a Nikon D500 by Glen Richardson in the Fairfield subdivision on the night of Jan. 6, with security lighting providing illumination. The rest of the shots were captured by WNLP’s own Bob Wellinski as these beauties apparently went door-to-door in search of a little lunch in the Johnson Road vicinity.

If you would like to submit a Great Shot of a local scene or event, email it as a .jpg attachment to Be sure to include the photographer’s name and a little information about the photo(s).
