The Indiana Department of Revenue is providing a new online resource to help taxpayers navigate through the types of tax credits and deductions available this tax season. The web pages include tables outlining who may qualify for what, and what forms are needed.

Tax credits are applied to the taxable income for the tax year and reduce the amount of tax paid. Indiana has 23 credits applicable to state taxes and 20 applicable deductions.

Federal income tax returns need to be filed by April 17, 2018. State tax returns are due by April 15, 2018. Those with an adjusted gross income of less than $66,000 in 2017 can use INfreefile to electronically file individual tax returns for free.
