April 7, 1918 – Thousands march in LaPorte’s Liberty Day parade in evidence of love of country and that the third bond campaign for the war effort might succeed.

April 7, 1968 — An explosion in a Richmond, Ind., sporting goods store has killed 42. The toll is expected to go over 50.

April 7, 1993 — Police say that Rayna Rison’s boyfriend and a relative who was convicted of molesting Rayna over a two-year period are not prime suspects in Rayna’s disappearance.

April 7, 2008 — A Michigan City billboard says “MCAS Teachers have NO Confidence in their Superintendent.” Tim Bietry of the Michigan City Chamber of Commerce says “It surely hinders economic development.”
