New Prairie students shine at leadership conference

Press release from New Prairie School Corp.

“The 2018 HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) International Leadership Conference goes down in history for NPUSC! Never before have we had so many of our competitors move on to the final round of their event. There were nearly 12,000 competitors and Indiana had 10 students make it to the Top 10 of their event, 2 of whom were NP Cougars! Congratulations to Robby Smith (3rd- Extemporaneous Health Poster) and Cydney Palmer (Top 10 Health Career Exploration).

“In addition to their competitive events, students also had the opportunity to attend various education symposiums and explore the sights of Dallas. The entire team visited the Sixth Floor Museum and enjoyed BBQ afterwards. Several students visited the Dallas Zoo, while others chose to visit the Holocaust Museum and JFK Memorial. We are very proud of all of the ILC attendees!

“Thank you to NPUSC administration, administration at the HS & MS, PTOs at Olive, Rolling Prairie, Prairie View, the staff at the Bus Garage, Ashley Robbins with the 21st Century Grant , Healthcare Foundation of LaPorte, and Northwest Indiana Area Health Education Center for supporting these students in this academic opportunity. A huge thank you to our chaperones: Julie Schroeder, Brianne Schmidt and Pat & Wendi Hemphill. Having multiple chaperones allowed us to provide more options for the students and we are forever grateful for your time. Congratulations NPUSC Team HOSA!”
